Story of Cattle
As European colonized and settled in North America they brought their cows. Now there are millions of cows in the United States of America. Dairy farms across the Mississippi watershed tell different stories.
When a cow begins to produce milk, farmers milk them by hand or machine. The milk becomes a human product.
Unless the market is regulated, the milk product value could vary wildly, making the agricultural system unstable. If the milk product does not pay enough to the farmer, the farmer sometimes uses the milk as a rudimentary fertilizer in the fields.
Right in the farm field, cows are so astonished to witness that farmers are wasting the milk
that was taken from her, but she was too helpless to say a word.
As a cow matures, over 120kg of greenhouse gas can be emitted during the process of
rumination in the first stomach. Cows in dense populations are also susceptible to parasites and viruses which is possibly infected by human.
However, in many farms, cow-keepers do not consider the long-term care of the environment. Cow manure washes across the degraded grassland to the river systems.
While milk gets into the us market supplying all over the country transported by trucks, manure waste from cows can be washed downstream through water flow polluting water and propagating algae.
